Time for Africa Climate exists to unlock Africa’s climate potential through practical, community-centred solutions. Our focus connects urban waste recovery, efficient household cooking and the use of agricultural residues.
These challenges shape everyday life: waste can obstruct access to waterways, unreliable power constrains local opportunity, and polluting cooking fuels affect household wellbeing. We aim to address them in ways that support local skills, livelihoods and environmental care.
Our proposed Waste to Worth, Clean Cookstoves and Biochar programmes are being developed around local needs, appropriate technology and measurable performance.

During TFA’s visit to Lagos Island, discussions with local government leaders connected two pressing priorities: managing urban waste and improving access to reliable electricity. Those conversations helped shape the proposed Waste-to-Worth programme.
Engagement with community leaders in Lagos also highlighted the importance of healthier surroundings, practical skills and resilient livelihoods. Local knowledge remains central to how projects would be designed and delivered.
